49ers Remain Undefeated, But Injuries Could Threaten San Francisco's Super Bowl Hopes

The San Francisco 49ers are 6-0 after defeating the Washington Commanders 23-17 on Monday Night Football. Yet another victory came with another injury concern.

Veteran receiver Mike Evans left the game with an Achilles issue after catching three passes for 94 yards. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated the injury was not serious, but Evans' availability remains something to monitor.

The 49ers have demonstrated that they can win despite personnel challenges. The question is whether that approach can hold up over an entire season.

San Francisco controlled much of Monday's contest before Washington rallied in the second half, turning what looked like a comfortable victory into a six-point finish.

MCSN's Take

The 49ers deserve credit for being undefeated. Six wins don't happen by accident.

But there's a difference between surviving the regular season and winning a Super Bowl. San Francisco cannot continue losing key contributors and expect its depth to solve every problem.

The 49ers look like championship contenders. Staying healthy enough to finish the job may be their biggest challenge.
