Report: Kevin Huerter Returning to Detroit on Three-Year Deal

The Detroit Pistons have reportedly secured one of their top offseason priorities.

According to ESPN, free agent sharpshooter Kevin Huerter intends to sign a three-year, $27 million contract to return to Detroit. The deal was negotiated with agents Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman of Priority Sports.

Huerter proved to be a valuable addition to the Pistons last season, providing perimeter shooting, veteran leadership and offensive versatility. His ability to stretch the floor complemented Detroit’s young core led by Cade Cunningham, helping create spacing for one of the league’s emerging offenses.

By bringing Huerter back on a multi-year deal, the Pistons continue to prioritize continuity while maintaining flexibility for future roster moves. The agreement comes during an active offseason for Detroit, which has already traded up to draft Stanford guard Ebuka Okorie, acquired center Ugonna Onyenso, and reshaped its frontcourt with the trade of Isaiah Stewart.

The reported three-year, $27 million contract gives Detroit one of the NBA’s proven perimeter shooters at a reasonable value, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to surrounding Cunningham with reliable floor spacers.
