Trajan Langdon Finishes Third in NBA Executive of the Year
Detroit Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon has officially received league-wide recognition for one of the NBA’s most impressive rebuilds.
According to the NBA Executive of the Year voting results, Langdon finished third overall with 40 total points, including six first-place votes. Only Boston’s Brad Stevens (69 points) and Atlanta’s Saleh Osi (41 points) finished ahead of him.
After taking over Detroit’s front office, Langdon helped engineer a dramatic turnaround for a Pistons franchise that had been searching for direction. Smart roster additions, culture changes, coaching stability, and a renewed focus on player development helped Detroit rise into playoff contention and reestablish credibility around the league.
For Pistons fans, the result is confirmation that the organization is finally moving in the right direction.
Langdon’s offseason moves and long-term vision helped reshape the roster around Cade Cunningham, while bringing toughness, depth, and veteran leadership to a young core desperate for structure.
While he did not take home the award, finishing third in his second season guiding Detroit is a major statement — and a sign the Pistons may just be getting started.
Detroit basketball is earning respect again. And Trajan Langdon is a big reason why.
